The advantage of an airborne sensor

An airborne receiving module supports monitoring and analysis of communications that terrain can obscure from ground sensors. Detection, classification and location capability depend on the chosen equipment and conditions; the receiver itself is not a jammer.

Survey and active protection in one architecture

Radio surveillance and active protection are separate configurations. A receiving module cannot automatically provide jamming. Any active capability requires dedicated equipment and separate integration and operating approval; the catalogue below describes receiving systems only.

Manned aircraft and UAVs

The manufacturer must confirm weight, power draw and measurement accuracy for the selected installation.

CRFS

RFeye Node 100-18 LW

Passive RF receiver

Catalogue alternative · integration unconfirmed

A wideband receiving module for recording and subsequent analysis of the radio spectrum.

Receive frequency range
9 kHz–18 GHz
Instantaneous bandwidth
100 MHz
Sustained I/Q streaming bandwidth
12.5 MHz
Network interface
1 GigE
RF inputs
3

100 MHz bandwidth does not mean continuous recording of that entire bandwidth. Confirm weight and antenna assembly: the manufacturer's introduction lists 1.98 kg, while its table lists 1.95 kg.

Rohde & Schwarz

EM200

Compact monitoring receiver

Catalogue alternative · integration unconfirmed

A receiver for spectrum observation and I/Q output to downstream processing.

Frequency range
8 kHz–8 GHz
Real-time bandwidth
40 MHz
I/Q streaming: standard / option
1 MHz / 40 MHz
Weight
Approximately 3.5 kg
Supply voltage
10–32 V DC
Typical power, depending on options
18–20 W

Figures are from the EM200 v1.00 fact sheet. Without suitable antennas, options and analysis, the receiver is not a complete direction-finding or ELINT system. Airborne integration is not confirmed.
